01 Keep the relationships that already bring work.
Referrals give a prospective client a reason to trust you before the conversation starts. Your website can support that introduction with a clear explanation of services and relevant experience.
Record referral inquiries alongside the others where possible. People who reach you directly can be added to the CRM so the report does not ignore an important source of work.
02 Use local search for relevant searches.
Your Business Profile and service pages help people understand what you do and where you work. Local-search work takes ongoing attention, and there is no promised date when a particular ranking will appear.
Google may crawl, index and show a page at different times, and inclusion is not guaranteed. Track search visibility, but also check whether it produces useful inquiries.

03 Use Google Ads with a clear page and tracking.
Ads can put a service in front of people searching for it. Before running them, make sure the page answers that need and the phone or form leads to somebody who can respond.
In the accounts Arin has run, search has often brought homeowner work with an immediate need. Your experience depends on the searches you target. That observation is not a rule that search only produces small projects.
04 Use introductions for relationship work.
Email outreach can introduce a firm to relevant business contacts. Meta advertising is another channel to consider separately. A sent message or ad impression is not a relationship, reply or meeting.
Our top two plans include outreach. Meta advertising is a separate add-on. Neither comes with a promised reply rate or project count.
05 Do the arithmetic in your own units.
Here is a hypothetical example, not a forecast: four leads at $60 each cost $240 in ad spend. If one books a $500 assessment, the assessment brings $500 in revenue before the engineering time, overhead and agency fee.
That is not $260 of profit. Put the real delivery costs and any further project work into your calculation before deciding whether the advertising is worthwhile.
06 Start with something your team can handle.
If the website is unclear or calls go unanswered, address that before adding traffic. If the process works, test a service and market you can serve, record the results and decide what to change from there.
